We might ask ourselves: Why are the poor so special to God? One humourist said that God must love the poor
because there sure are a lot of them. The
poor are God’s because they have no one else to depend on. With this in mind, the insight of Christian
history has been nothing less than the fact that we are all poor, that we all
suffer the same final fate despite our present riches. In truth, none of us have anything or anyone
to depend on but God.
We welcome Gertie Croft as our musician today. Thank you, Gertie, for
being our minister of music today.
Welcome!
Everyone is
invited to stay for fellowship after the service.
We pray today for all
the sick in our congregation, especially Else Kalmbach and her son, Nancy
Mayberry, George Simonis, Ed Stanat and John Weninger. May God grant all of them His healing grace
in Jesus Christ. Amen.
