The beginning of Jesus’ ministry appears to be a
sudden thing in today’s Gospel reading. Whether or not it took place just that
quickly is not really important. The impact his preaching and his person had on
people – like Peter, Andrew, James, and John – cannot be denied. His preaching
of the Kingdom of God and his healing of the sick remind us that his message is
for all people and for the entire person as well.
