As we continue in
Lent, we hear more from John’s Gospel. Each of the stories – the woman at the
well, the man born blind, the raising of Lazarus – are what are referred to in
John as “signs.” These are events and explanations that always point to Jesus
as the Messiah, the saviour of the world, and the Son of God. Although John’s
language can be hard to understand at times, these are powerful points to
consider.
