“This fellow welcomes sinners and eats with them.”  Such is the refrain of the “righteous”, the sort of folks who feel they deserve the attention of the Almighty.  But what about those of us who need that attention?  The Gospel truth is this:  the sinners and the poor, the lost and the needy HAVE God’s attention and care.  The disciple’s call is to spread this Good News to those who need to hear it – because even the “righteous” need to hear it.

Welcome!

Everyone is invited to stay for fellowship after the service.

We pray today for all the sick in our congregation, especially Else Kalmbach and her son, George Simonis, Ed Stanat and John Weninger.  May God grant all of them His healing grace in Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Offering Envelopes - Everyone has unnumbered envelopes, so please remember to put your name, date and donation amount on the front of each envelope so you get credit for your donations.  If you need more envelopes, there are some in the Fellowship Hall.

PAR – Pre-Authorized Remittance – Your church needs you!  Signing up for PAR allows you to make donations on a monthly basis even if you’re not in church.  Application forms are available on the table in the Fellowship Hall.  All you have to do is complete the form, attach a VOID cheque and put it in the offering plate or in the church office.

Communion Cards are required to be completed once per year per person.  If you have not completed one yet this year, please ask the usher for one.
Today’s flowers are from Richard & Marg Guenther, in loving memory of their daughter, Lisa Ens, who passed away twelve years ago, on September 11, 2004.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the Ens families.  Eiginna Ens passed away on September 2.  Even in their sorrow, may they know the comfort of the Lord's Resurrection and the church's prayers.

OCTOBER 31, 1517 - LUTHER PROTESTS – LUTHERANS STILL WORSHIPING 500 YEARS LATER

We are all familiar with that date ... in 2017, we will be celebrating the 500th anniversary of Luther's hammer, nails and paper demonstration at the door of the Wittenberg Church.  Starting in the fall of 2016, we begin our celebration of this big anniversary year.

The eight congregations of Thames Ministry Area will be gathering on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 3:30 pm for a Reformation Celebration Worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 746 Colborne St, London (corner of Oxford & Colborne), with special guest Bishop Michael Pryse.  The service will be followed by a catered meal - cost $15 – reservations are required.  The main course will be chicken or a vegetarian option.

If you are interested in attending, please sign up on poster in Fellowship Hall or contact Trudy Bunde @ 519-773-7133 or tbunde69@gmail.com   Reservations and payments must be made by September 18.

LCW Fall Bazaar – Saturday, November 5 @ 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
There will be cabbage rolls, meat pies, fruit pies, baked goods, crafts and jewellery.  Volunteers are needed for making cabbage rolls, meat pies and fruit pies.  Please bring crafts and baked goods by 9:00 a.m.  If you have any jewellery that you would like to donate, please leave it in the basket in the Fellowship Hall.

All Saints Sunday – Sunday, November 6

All Saints Sunday is the celebration of the day when those who have died in the past year are commemorated as well as all the saints of the church.  We will remember our members and loved ones who are with the Lord in Word, song, candle, and church bell.
