A Moment Aside --- 12 October 2021
Don’t people drive you
crazy? Aren’t they a bothersome bunch? Maybe I should say “Aren’t WE a bothersome
bunch?” instead.
Truly we are all children
of God. Genesis tells us we are all made in the image and likeness of God
(Genesis 1:26, 27) and that is done without regard to gender, place of origin, race,
or religion. All of us are made in God’s image and likeness – a truth that goes
far beyond the shape, colour, size, or beauty of each of our faces.
So be brave and be hopeful
and faithful because we are all children of God.
Then be kind, generous,
and gentle… because we are ALL children of God.
This insight is easy to
see and – sadly – easy to forget. It is worth making the effort to remember and
practice. We all know that it will take effort. So go ahead
and do it.
Start once a day and twice
tomorrow and let it grow from there. And remember… you are a child of God. (At
times, that’s tougher to recall!)
