A Moment Aside --- 2 November 2021
I was told this years ago and I find it still true today. If churches become centers of display and self-worship, we should go to a coffee shop where the snacks are better.
If, however, the church is
a place of healing and support, let’s stay. None of us are so good that we can’t
use the support of other believers, who are often as wounded as we are.
This is not a discussion
of the church building; not at all. Buildings keep out the rain and snow, but
they do not heal. A ‘church’ can meet in a barn, in a living room, in the open…
“For
where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.”
(Mt. 18:20) Far more important than a sound system.
